How did you initially get involved with aromatherapy, and what made you start working with essential oils?
I studied herbs for several years when I saw essential oils for retail sale. It was an easy transition into learning more since the basic uses often correlated with the herbal uses. Essential oils spoke to me more sensually (senses), and though I still use herbs for primary care when minor ailments arise, I love essential oils and apply them in my daily skincare routine.
What is your first memory about your first contact with essential oils?
Rosemary had a little herb section in our health food store and carried some basics, such as rosemary, orange, lavender and eucalyptus. They all spoke to me, but who can resist any of the citrus oils?
What would be your tips for a new or upcoming aromatherapist new to the field?
Get a good education and as much personal experience as possible. This takes time, so don't think you must learn everything in a few years. Every great teacher I ever had maintained a passion for learning, as do I.
