Propolis and cranberry in preventing low urinary tract infection recurrence

“Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are among the most common community infections in women. UTIs affect 11.3 million women in the United States annually, primarily represented by cystitis. This frequency of cystitis is an important reason for prescribing antibiotics by medical doctors.”

“Treatment of UTI with antibiotics selects and promotes the development of resistance of Escherichia coli to these antibiotics, and the uropathogens involved in UTIs are increasingly resistant to antibiotics worldwide.”

Another very important research area that Dr Peter Babulka highlights for us in his PHYTO–AROMA NEWS section. This one goes through the evaluation process and summary of the main results of this study in order to demonstrate the efficacy of some natural constitutes as a valuable strategy to reduce the recurrence of cystitis episodes.
